| I wanted to make a small
memorial site to remember a really awesome, and sweet young girl named
Lisa Steinberg. If anyone knows me, I love kids, they are so
awesome. So many times we can learn so much from them. They
have such a simple heart and pure heart. I just recently heard of Lisa's
story. I was a kid my self when she died so I didn't hear on the
news what
happened
to her. As a 12 year old I really could have cared less about the
news at that age. As I grew older, there was this song called, "Dear
Mr. Jesus" that was popular during the late 80s. The song is sung by
then 9 year old Sharon Batts. I really liked the song, and it totally
touched my heart. I get teary eyed even when I hear it now.
Recently I was looking up information about the song and I came to find
out that the song was written about Lisa Steinberg. I had never
known that the song was based on a true event. I began to look up
info on Lisa on the net. I found out the brutal way she died.
The way her step father beat her up and put her into a coma, and later
died.
Something like this is uncalled for, and I stand tall and strong and
will fight child abuse till the day I die. As I continued to look
though the net, I tried to find info on Lisa, but there really wasn't much
on her. No memorial sites, no nothing. So this small tribute
site is for her. I know she's in a better place now and she's
resting in the arms of Jesus and one day I will get to see her.
I will leave you with the song that was written about Lisa. It touches
my heart every time I hear it. These are the lyrics. May God
bless you!

Dear Mr. Jesus, I just
had to write to you
Something really scared me, when I saw it on the news
A story 'bout a little girl beaten black and blue
Jesus, thought I'd take this right to you
Dear Mr. Jesus, I don't understand
Why they took her mom and dad away
I know that they don't mean to hit with wild and angry hands
Tell them just how big they are I pray
Please don't let them hurt your children
We need love and shelter from the storm
Please don't let them hurt your children
Won't you keep us safe and warm
Dear Mr. Jesus, they say that she may die
Oh I hope the doctors stop the pain
I know that you could save her and take her up to the sky
So she would never have to hurt again
Please don't let them hurt your children...
Dear Mr. Jesus, please tell me what to do
And please don't tell my daddy
But my mommy hits me, too.
Please don't let them hurt your children...
