By Rachel Joy Scott -
| This poem I read though tears, one cold February evening, and
with a broken heart, re-dedicated my life to God.
^ |
"What if you were to die today?
What would happen to you?
Where would you go?
Tomorrow is not a promise, but a chance, It may not be there for
you.
After death, then what? Where will you spend your eternity?
Will you have an eternal life with our loving Father, or will you
be ripped from the arms of your savior Jesus Christ?
ETERNITY IS IN YOUR HANDS...CHANGE IT!"
Angel of Mine
by Sarah Elizabeth Scott
| In the video
Untold stories of Columbine, Sarah recited this poem she wrote
for her cousin, Rachel. It totally touched my heart, I
was crying and still do when I watch it. God bless you
Sarah.

I just missed you....
Angel of mine
looking down seeing the despair
only leaving a soul searching for air.
Feeling the warmth, seeing the light
reaching for wings for the eternal flight
slipping away from this world today.
Angel of mine you've found your way.
Let my love be the wind beneath your wings.
As you rejoice in heaven and sing.
Angel of mine watch over me always,
because I will need you in my heart in many ways.
You my angel I make a promise to you.......
To share your rhythm and rhyme to them you will
show them what's true.
Angel of mine your face will make the heavens
so bright, with your beauty, grace and loving spirit.
Only God knows why you were shot,
but I know for sure I'll never forget my beloved
friend and cousin RACHEL JOY SCOTT
A poem Darrell Scott wrote to Congress:
Your laws ignore our
deepest needs,
Your words are empty air.
You've stripped away our heritage,
You've outlawed simple prayer.
Now gunshots fill our classrooms,
And precious children die.
You seek for answers everywhere,
And ask the question 'Why?'
You regulate restrictive laws,
Through legislative creed.
And yet you fail to understand,
That God is what we need!

| This poem touched my heart
to the core. We don't know why things happen like
Columbine, but someday we will know, because I know God is in
control of all things.

Dear Parents, Friends
and Loved Ones,
Of these precious youth you've lost,
I see your broken spirits,
I know the terrible cost.
Though evil reigned at
Columbine,
And horror filled the air,
I wanted all of you to know,
I left Heaven and came there.
I summoned Heaven's
Angels,
Long before the call came in,
To share the dreadful warning,
Of what would soon begin.
The angels' wings were
folded,
They knew what was to come,
When I said, "I'll lead this mission."
They followed one by one.
"I will go and get
these babies,
And bring them home with me,
Where they'll live in Heaven's Schoolhouse,
Where it's safe and terror free."
Yes, I've prepared a
Special Schoolhouse,
It stands out from all the rest,
The Welcome Mat reads, "Columbine,"
It's reserved for Heaven's best.
I was hovering all
around them,
In the Library and the Hall,
When the evil forces entered,
Your children heard me call.
I wrapped my arms
around them,
Pulled them close unto my breast,
"I've come to take you with me,
We must go and leave the rest."
"Your friends will long
remember,
All the cool times that we shared,
And the Angels will remind them,
How very much you cared."
Yes, I took those
precious children,
In the twinkling of an eye,
We were on our way to Heaven,
To their Schoolhouse in the sky.
I know your hearts are
broken,
I know the pain you bear,
My heart is also broken,
By the evil everywhere.
Please help me fight
this battle,
To keep our children safe,
Through prayers and love and sharing,
And holding to the Faith,
That Peace will surely
reign one day,
In schools throughout the lands,
For all our future hopes and dreams,
Rest in our students' hands.
I'll give you peace to
fill your heart,
Send sun to break the night,
Provide the strength to move beyond,
The wrongs and do what's right.
You ask how I can know
your pain,
From the loss of your dear one,
It's because it seems like yesterday,
When I, too gave up a Son.
I love you,
God

Buddy & Julie
Miller
| I've never
heard of these two singers until a friend of mine sent me a
article on them and this song. It's been a while since
I've revisited my country music roots, but this song is pretty
awesome. You can find the CD at any music store or on
line at
cdnow.com The part that brought me to tears the last
verses. This song is a awesome tribute to Rachel!
Thanks Buddy and Julie for this!

Seventeen years; How
could we know
And thirteen tears to make a flower grow
Tears that fell from your eyes
Were the ones that heaven cries
For the children left to walk alone
There is a life no one can take
There is a chain of love no one can break
In all the world there is no love greater than this
Than to lay down your life for your friends
And did you feel a longing? And did you hear a secret song?
And did you sing it out to the dark? And did you follow the
footsteps?
Did you shine a light? And did you dance with all of your heart?
So let us start, beloved child
upon angels that have smiled
God takes you by the hand,
Dance for joy little lamb
In the arms of God forever more
Dance in the arms of God forever more
Dance in the arms of God forever more
Dreaming
Rachel Joy Scott
| I could go
on and on about this poem. One of the things that I
relate to with Rachel is the fact that I too want that earthly
companionship that Rachel longed for. I went though 4
years of my life with someone who just used me and didn't care
about me. Now that I'm single again, it gets so lonely,
I long for the day when I will see the face of my true love.
When ever I am lonely or down, I turn to this poem for
encouragement. Thank you Rachel!!

I close my eyes
I open my mind
I think of things
yet to come
one day I will see
the face of my love
One day I will be
In somebody's arms
Until that day
Will come to be
I close my eyes
And dream a dream
I am Convinced
Brian Doerksen & Brenton Brown
| Brian Doerksen is an
awesome worship leader. His songs are heart felt and
anointed by God. This song reminded me so much of the
whole Columbine incident and of course of Rachel. This song is
from his new album, "You Shine."

I am convinced
no force on earth
can separate us
from the love of God
Angels or demons
this life or death
won’t separate us
from the love of God
So high, so wide, so measureless
filling eternity
So strong, so deep, so intimate
encircling mystery
That nothing can take Your love from me
Violence or danger
hunger or shame
won’t separate us
from the love of God
I am convinced
no force on earth
can separate us
from the love of God

You are My Hero
Dennis Jernigan
| I went to a
Dennis Jernigan praise service, and he sang this song. I
cried my eyes out, because this song describes Rachel so well.
She is my hero. Rachel, I dedicate
this song to you!
^ |
I've seen you stand alone and
face the fight
When others laid their weapons down
And headed for home
I've seen you face the fire and come out shining like gold,
And I want you to know...
I've seen you lay visions down for someone else
And give your life as a sacrifice, no fanfare around!
I've watched you weather storms that would have left others
drowned,
And this is what I've found:
You are my hero, my knight in
shining armor
A warrior of God's grace, standing alone faithfully!
You are my hero, a light that pierces darkness
With love that's not afraid to fight for someone like me,
Encouraging me to stand firm and free!
You are my hero!
I've seen you look down the
road and see beyond
The miles and head for truth in faith while bearing a load
I've heard your anguished cries for grace and watched joy
unfold,
And I want you to know:
You are my hero, my knight in
shining armor
A warrior of God's grace, standing alone faithfully!
You are my hero, a light that pierces darkness
With love that's not afraid to fight for someone like me,
Encouraging me to stand firm and free!
You are my hero!
I've seen you face death with
a deep burning faith
That stirs up the passion in me!
Your heart, like a fire, abounding in grace,
A beacon helping others to see; help set me free
Requiem For A Queen
Jeff Edward Mayers
| I can relate
to this so much. I found this poem and the one below it
on the Rachel Scott board. One of the member's wrote
these poems.

One Year after the Columbine incident your name is one amongst
the many that are being remembered in this nation's consciousness
Rachel Scott. You can claim something that no one else can- you got
to me, you got me to believe in a purpose, in forgiveness, in God
again and nobody, not even Cassie Bernall, can say this other than
you Rachel. From what I've read and hear about you, I know that
you're a good person who accepted everyone you met and server God to
the best of your ability. I wish I had met and known you and I know
I'll meet you up in heaven when its my time. You were an angel in
life and now you're an angel in death and I shall pray for you and
your family, you will always live in my mind and in my heart Rachel.
Thy Name Is...
Jeff Edward Mayers
| This one is
one of those tear jerker poems. This was originally
written by Rachel to her mother in one of her journals. The
author changed it around so that it talks about Rachel instead
of her mother. If you've read Rachel's Tears you'll know
what I'm talking about. A very awesome poem, which touched my
heart when I read it, and had to share it with you all so it
could touch your heart as well.
^ |
-Sacrifice is thy name because you have give up life
on this planet to show others who and how you were to people who
didn't have the opportunity to meet you.
-Faithfulness is thy name because you didn't abandon your beliefs
during the hard times and in the face of death
-Humble is thy name because you were never too proud to submit
yourself to God's will and influence.
-Wise is thy name because you had a sense of wisdom beyond your
years and from this tragedy we are all a little wiser to what we are
capable of.
-Grace is thy name because you carried yourself as a true servant of
God in life and that way that your family has carried themselves
since your death.
-Strength is thy name because you had the strength of conviction to
do God's work no matter the price you paid.
-Loving is thy name because you were kind and considerate to
everyone you met an knew and you never shunned anyone who was
different than other people.
-Beautiful is thy name because you were beautiful on the outside
and, most importantly, on the inside.
-Thy name is Rachel Joy Scott and we will all miss you as you are
now in God's kingdom and find comfort in knowing that your family,
friends and other people who follows your example by bing kind and
courteous to others will see you in heaven when its our time.
God hath Not Promised
by Annie Johnson Flint
| This
poem has always touched my heart. When ever I am down in
the dumps, I read it and it gives me hope. Because there
is hope in God!
^ |
God hath not promised
Skies always blue
Flower -strewn pathways
All our lives through
God hath not promised
Sun without rain
Joy without sorrow
Peace without pain
But God hath promised
Strength for the day
Rest for the labor
Light for the way
Grace for the trials
Help from above
Unfailing sympathy
Undying Love
Angel in my Heart
by Jump5
| I got a
Jump5 CD from this music club. I love their positive
upbeat sound. When I heard this song, it brought me to
tears because it reminded me of Rachel. I think of Rachel as
my guardian angel. So this song I can really relate to.

I heard a whisper
that touched deep inside my soul
like some familiar melody
a hidden chapter from a story left untold
I gotta feeling, I could believe in
(chorus)
there is an angel in my heart
feels like I'm guided by a candle in the dark
its taken all this time
to finally find out what I could never see
an angel in my heart
You were there 4 me
now there is no doubt that there will always be
an angel in my heart
You were the friend, You were the one I could confide in
You gave me strength that I could never find
deep emotions that's I've always been denying
I believe in, its so close now, its You that
I'm feeling
(chorus)
finally found what I been searching for
(all my life)
it was right before my eyes
oh u are my angel
i know You'll always be there
You are my one and only angel
to finally found find what I could never see
(You were there for me)
now there is no doubt that there will always be
an angel in my heart
13 Tears (Chain Reaction)
by
Donnie Storms

| A really
awesome song. When I first read the lyrics to this, my
heart was touched deeply and even more so knowing that this
song was written by a young man who's life was touched by
Rachel's story just like me.

Your life starts off
Same as any other little girl
Bright eyes, big dreams
"I'll make an impact on the world"
A heart so full of love and hope
Devotion few could understand
Always wanted your name up in lights
But God had something different...
Bridge:
Planned for you, and so you go
Amongst the stars and moon
You always said you'd leave us young
But no one ever thought you meant this soon
One final picture at the dance
A victim...of circumstance
13 tears shed way too soon
Chorus:
You lived
Your life
With only one simple request
"God use me to reach the ones You cannot reach"
Focused without distraction
"I'll start a chain reaction"
Your hands were strong, and always open to the weak
To help them understand
A single rose
Tears have turned to blood and soak the stem
You can try with all your heart
But you can't save all of them
Your mission statement
Live for Jesus, Others, and Yourself
The Joy you held in your name
To much to hide upon a....
Bridge:
Shelf away from others
Or held inside a cage
You gave so much but had one demand
I won't be judged as average
You left a challenge for us all
Pictures inside your journal scrawled
13 tears shed way too soon
Chorus
So look behind the mirror
Your story's pretty clear
In death, your soul's still living
And still you show this world no fear
These hands belong to Rachel Scott
They'll touch the lives of millions
13 tears shed way too soon |
