I first heard about RJ
Helton and his song "Rachel's Song" through my good friend Jamie.
What an awesome young singer, who has a awesome heart for God, life
and music. His honest and pure vocals and up lifting lyrics
can truly inspire and encourage the listener.
Upon hearing about Rachel's story, her life and
legacy, RJ's mom, Sue Helton, was deeply touched and moved to
compose this wonderful and inspirational song on a girl who's life
has touched the world. What an awesome tribute to
Rachel. I was very deeply touched by this song, so I wanted to
share it with you the visitor and I pray that it will touch your
heart as well.
I want to extend a special thanks to Sue Helton and
RJ Helton for a wonderful done tribute to Rachel. I'd also like to
thank Jamie O'Brien for introducing me to such a talented and
awesome singer and for just being a awesome friend!
This song is for you Rachel. We'll see you
again someday!

Rachel's Song
Crowded halls, open books
and teachers voices,
Many friends to call her own...
A future bright, filled with plans and dreams,
Full of life and love, how could she have known?
Two young men on a mission for revenge,
With broken spirits, jaded thoughts, and an empty space within,
How could they see her mission here,
Could set them free....
Rachel, Rachel, girl you stood your ground
You gave up your life, and exchanged it for your crown
Rachel, Rachel, girl you stood your ground
You gave up your life, and exchanged it for your crown
Scattered youth and bullets flying,
Try to figure out why this must be...
Lives taken, hearts shaken, people crying...
Blinded eyes, why can't we see?
Pointed fingers, loud accusations
Who is to blame, is you or is it me
Rachel, Rachel, girl you stood your ground
You gave up your life, and exchanged it for your crown
Rachel, Rachel, girl you stood your ground
You gave up your life, and exchanged it for your crown
Our tears will dry,
Our hearts will mend,
Let us find peace and joy in the end
Take hold, take hold of Rachel's hand
Of Rachel's hand...
Rachel, Rachel, girl you girl you stood your ground
You gave up your life, to claim your crown
